Our Minister

Rev. Monica D. Jacobson Tennessen is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister and spiritual director. Her approach to life and ministry is one of gratitude, awe, generosity, and joy. Rev. Monica's calling is to help people make connections and grow in relationship to themselves, others, and the greater All That Is, that we may all be fully alive inside our lives.

Rev. Monica is an alumna of Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to her Masters of Divinity from Meadville Lombard, she holds a Masters of Information Science from the University of Michigan. Rev. Monica has served congregations in Oregon, Massachusetts, and Washington. She lived in Walla Walla, Washington, for four years while an undergraduate at Whitman College, and in 2011 she came to CUUC for OWL training. Currently Rev. Monica lives in western Washington with her spouse, child, and two mischievous Siamese cats; she serves Community UU Church through a combination of trips to the Tri Cities, Zoom, and phone/email.
